Role Overview
As Medical Data Lead, you will be responsible for leading efforts to structure and standardize healthcare data within standardized models, including OMOP Common Data Model (CDM) framework and HL7/FHIR standard. You will work closely with technical and clinical teams to ensure high-quality data harmonization, supporting real-world data research and healthcare innovation. This role is ideal for a healthcare professional with a strong understanding of clinical workflows, data structures, and interoperability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead efforts to harmonize healthcare data, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.
- Support internal product development, ensuring scalable and efficient data processing.
- Manage and optimize ETL processes for integrating new data partners.
- Collaborate with data partners to understand how their data is processed and shared, identifying valuable data elements for the network.
- Review and update policies regarding codification standards and interoperability in healthcare.
- Contribute to the development and adoption of federated models for data sharing and research, ensuring secure and efficient collaboration across multiple entities.
- Provide clinical insights to enhance data structuring, coding, and standardization efforts.
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to drive adoption and effective use of OMOP-based data models.
Qualifications:
- Background in healthcare, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, public health, biomedical informatics, or a related field.
- Understanding of healthcare data, electronic health records (EHRs), claims databases, and clinical registries.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate clinical concepts into data requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with technical teams on data structuring and standardization.
- Previous work with different EHRs, Laboratory Information Management Systems or Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems
- Familiarity with OMOP CDM and standard healthcare terminologies (e.g., SNOMED CT, LOINC, RxNorm, ICD).
- Experience in data modeling, ETL processes, and SQL.
- Prior work in clinical research, epidemiology, or health outcomes research.
